PLAIN ARTS SALISBURY
Plain Arts Salisbury was founded in the late 1990’s it represents and supports the arts in and around the city. A not-for-profit, artist led organisation run by a lively, steering committee. Networking and promoting its member artists with the aim to achieve an active exhibiting programme. The organisation is strategically placed to both develop and influence the local art scene.
We have close working relationships with Wiltshire Creative (formerly The Arts Centre), Salisbury Cathedral and the Heritage Craft Festival who provide us with invaluable assistance towards our programme.
Plain Arts is the home of the bi-annual art trail where members exhibit throughout the city and the surrounding villages. Artists open their studios or organise group shows highlighting the fantastic talents we have in Salisbury. The annual Paint Off is open to the public where artists of all ages simply get together to enjoy the experience of painting.
We have a diverse and exciting membership from fine artists and artisans for whom art is their livelihood to amateur and hobbyists all of whom make up the ever-growing talent of visual artists and makers.
As well as our rolling programme of members work hanging at Salisbury Medical Practice in Wilton Road, we organise our Summer and Winter Exhibitions at Gallery 4, Salisbury Library which is always a success. Five Rivers Leisure Centre, Waterstones, Fisherton Mill and Arundel’s are also venues we work with for exhibiting.
