Peter first resided in Salisbury in 1959, after which he established a well-known estate agency in the city. Painting has always been a way of relaxing during a busy and at times very hectic life-style involving many visits to other parts of the world and ultimately living abroad in Europe for nearly twenty-five years.
After retirement in France Peter returned to live once more in Salisbury near to his growing family and has concentrated more since then on enjoying and developing painting an eclectic mix of ideas in acrylics, greatly influenced by his foreign travels in the far east and on the continent. He could be described as a multi-stylist as his work ranges from a natural architectural structure to abstract interpretations and adaptations of Picasso-esque forms, being an admirer of the great man’s work.
In recent years I have completed a successful collection of paintings of some of the interesting doorways in Salisbury Close, resulting in many commissions of houses and views in The Close. Other commissions have included a range of far eastern legendary figures and some of the impressionism artists’ styles.
I was delighted to receive a Highly Commended for my painting "Coming Home". It was judged during a past Library Exhibition held by Salisbury Group of Artists.
Now, at the ripe old age of 90, I still enjoys working in my studio on new inspirational projects.
