Well we made it out for our last event of the year… and the sun shone down on us from the time we started setting up and stayed to warm us for most of the daylight hours.
Again the square took on a magic of it's own with so much creative, amazing art on show… a feast for everyone visiting!
Music filled the air and warm smell of hot food adding to the atmosphere.
We do hope you have enjoyed visiting our arts events this year and look forward to being back one the first Sunday of March… date for diary! :o)

OUTDOOR ARTS EVENT - MARKET SQUARE, SALISBURY

The weather may not have been perfect, but we were all happy to be back in the Market Square for the first of our two Christmas events.

The square was lit up with Christmas lights, our exhibitors added their own sparkle and with so much fabulous, unique art and craft work on display visitors had plenty to enjoy.

Music filled the air… Kings of Lounge and Ribble were back to play for us again and were joined by Guitar Waves for their first performance.
And we were very pleased to have Charter 1227 with us for the first time, providing the best outdoor hot food in the town!
We do hope you will join us all for our final event of the 2020… Thursday 17th December - 12pm - 7pm
It's the perfect place to find those special gifts we all love to give at Christmas! :o)

OCTOBER 2020
ART & PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION

This exhibition was held in partnership with the Wiltshire Wildlife Trust at their Nature Reserve, Hanging Langford, Salisbury.
Exhibiting within the fabulous surroundings of the reserve and overlooking one of the lakes was the perfect setting for our first exhibition.
Artist Karen Welsh and photographers Chris Lock and Sally Edwards exhibited work that was in keeping with the landscapes and nature of the surroundings area.
The exhibition was due to run from the beginning of October to the end of November, but unfortunately had to close after one month due to the lockdown restriction that came in to force in November.
We were delighted to receive so many lovely comments from those who visited and enjoyed the exhibition and look forward to exhibiting here again next year.

11TH OCTOBER 2020
OUTDOOR ARTS EVENT - MARKET SQUARE, SALISBURY

The temperature was definitely cooler for our 4th event, but it was still very warm in the sun. It was to be a day for all weathers and we experienced our first rain shower!

Luckily it didn't last too long and everyone coped very well with the unexpected downpour!

We were entertained by local buskers Ribble, who perform for the first time and the popular Kings of Lounge duo returned to play during the afternoon.

"Many congratulations for another excellent and most informative exhibition in the Market Square last Sunday. I am a member of the Salisbury Group of Artists and very much enjoyed visiting all the stands. There was a wonderful diversity of art to be seen and some really interesting and lovely craft work.

Well done and thanks you for laying it on. I look forward to the next one, when I will support the SGA stand for some of the day."

"Thank you for all your efforts to put on today’s Salisbury Arts Scene event in the Market Square.  It was utterly outstanding, although after your previous two events, I expected nothing less. I particularly enjoyed the music and felt that we had a more intimate setting this time and enjoyed better footfall.  I had a thoroughly good time and am already looking forward to the next one."

"I really enjoyed Sunday's event. I thought it was so well organised and I felt welcome and well looked after and I loved meeting other artists too. The whole event has really put a spring in my step. Thank you so much."

8TH & 9TH AUGUST 2020
OUTDOOR ARTS EVENT - GREENCROFT, SALISBURY

In August we headed back out into the sunshine for Arts Scene's second two day event. This time we doubled the number of exhibitors displaying their arts and crafts in the Greencroft and included food, ice creams and live music to the event.

Arts Scene held their first raffle held in aid of Guide Dogs… congratulations goes to young Josh Clarke our first lucky winner who received £50 to spend at a future event!
Ed Dibbles proved his great street food each day and Fat Sam's Ice Creams kept us cool!
A big THANK YOU goes to our local musicians who entertained us over the weekend and helped to create the perfect summer festival… hugely enjoyed by both exhibitors and the many visitors who supported us.

"I just wanted to drop you a quick line to say a huge thank you for organising this weekends Salisbury Art Scene.  Things could not have gone smoother from my perspective, we were well informed in the run up and everything was executed superbly on both days. I am well aware of just how much goes into organising events like this and such faultless delivery does not happen without a great deal of work. I thoroughly enjoyed it and hope to be able to join you for future events. Thank you once again."

Our first event held in July was a huge success!

"I just wanted to say that it was a fab event. So lovely to get out and see local creativity. Everyone was really friendly and it was great to have an activity we could do as a family where we felt there was very low COVID risk. All the artists had hand sanitiser, gloves etc and everyone seemed to be social distancing very well. Well done for a great event."

Lovely words from a fellow co-ordinator!

"Had to send you a big congratulations on what you achieved with the weekends’ event. I know how much it takes to organise things like this and what you achieved was truly remarkable. I hope you actually enjoyed yourself because that is important, but you can rightly be proud of having set all this up in such a short time. You deserve a well earned rest and I hope you do appreciate just what an achievement it was."

With highest regards.
